Content free for all at Bango

The company says it has created a 'lite' version of its mobile publishing and billing platform in anticipation of increased use of the mobile web as flat-rate data plans become commonplace.

In order to get a Bango Starter service up and running prospective content providers need to register at www.bango.com with their metadata, download page URLs, pricing and ratings.

Bango CEO Ray Anderson said: "The internet way of working with low cost of entry and global reach provides a refreshing change for the mobile content industry. By providing global WAP billing and the mobile search basics for free with our Bango Starter service, we encourage the 'long tail' of smaller businesses to give the mobile web a try."

Bango will be providing its start package through its offices in the USA, UK, Spain and Germany.
